This work focuses on characterizing four alcohols (1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-pentanol and 2-pentanol) through viscosity measurements using two different equipment: a falling body viscometer and a vibrating wire viscometer. Both techniques can measure up to 100 MPa, with relative expanded uncertainties (k = 2) of 3.5% and 1.5%, respectively. Since both viscometers need, as an input data, density of the measured compounds, a vibrating tube Anton Paar DMA-HPM densimeter is used to determine their densities in the same ranges of pressure and temperature with an expanded uncertainty (k = 2) of 0.70 kg·m−3. Finally, the experimental data are fitted to Tammann-Tait equation for densities and VFT model for viscosities obtaining standard deviations within the uncertainty of the measurements.
