In the present article, this usefulness is demonstrated through the characterization of the provenance of two Roman lead ponderals of unknown origin, using mass spectrometry (MC-ICP-MS). The isotopic ratios of both pieces have been put in correspondence with those of o res of the Toledo Milonitic Band, Ossa Morena Zone, Central Iberia Zone (Los Pedroches and Linares-La Carolina districts) and South Portuguese Zone or Iberian Pyritic Belt geological regions. Both lead weights seem to correspond to mineralizations in the shear zone of Badajoz-Córdoba (Los Pedroches district, Cuzna and Escoriales mines) or to neighboring Linares district (Palazuelos mine).
