This doctoral thesis named;Wine tasting notes as a text genre: an English-Spanish contrastive study; is a wide analysis of this text genre based on a corpus made up of 376 tasting notes. Taking the hypothesis that wine tasting notes can be considered a text genre including different text types, all these texts have been analyzed through the communicative, morphosyntactic, lexical, semantic, textual and stylistic spheres. Thanks to a comparative study, a classification for the different text types of this text genre is shaped to address their differences and similarities. Indeed, a contrastive study is carried out between Spanish and English in order to know how the characteristics of the wine tasting notes can vary if they are written in Spain or the USA and, this way, we can be aware of the changes that a translator must develop when exporting these texts together with their wines.
La tesis titulada «La nota de cata de vinos como género textual: Estudio contrastivo inglés-español» es un amplio análisis de este género textual basado en un corpus formado por 376 notas de cata. Partiendo de la hipótesis de que la nota de cata de vinos se puede considerar un género textual que engloba distintos tipos textuales, se han analizado todos estos textos a través de los planos comunicativo, morfosintáctico, léxico-semántico, textual y estilístico. Así, gracias a un estudio comparativo, se llega a la clasificación de los distintos tipos textuales que engloba este género textual para abordar tanto las diferencias entre ellos como sus semejanzas. Además, se realiza un estudio contrastivo entre las lenguas española e inglesa para conocer cómo varían los rasgos de las notas de cata elaboradas en España y en Estados Unidos y, de esta forma, ser conscientes de los cambios que debe realizar un traductor a la hora de exportar estos textos junto a sus caldos.
