Dos "vidas gráficas" de Santa Teresa de Jesús: Amberes 1613 y Roma 1655

Abstract

We propose a comparison of two important sets of engravings about St. Theresa of Avila’s life: Vita Beatae Teresiae to Iesu Virginis and Vita effigiata di S. Teresa Vergine, printed in Antwerp in 1613 and in Rome in 1655. The analysis shows the evolution of the forms and the subjects in St. Theresa’s iconography through seventeenth century.

Se plantea una comparación de dos series de grabados de singular proyección en el conjunto de la iconografía de Santa Teresa de Jesús: Vita Beatae Virginis Teresiae a Iesu y Vita effigiata di S. Teresa Vergine, estampados en Amberes en 1613 y en Roma en 1655, respectivamente. Su estudio contribuye a trazar la evolución temática y formal de la imagen teresiana a lo largo del siglo XVII.
