El presente trabajo examina la evolución seguida hasta el presente en la trayectoria de fomento en la Unión Europea de los medios alternativos a la vía judicial para la solución de los conflictos derivados del consumo, a través del análisis de los principales instrumentos sobre la materia, que comienza con la publicación -hace más de veinte años- del Libro Verde sobre acceso a la justicia y solución de litigios en el mercado interior y culmina -hasta la fecha- con las recientes Directiva sobre resolución alternativa de litigios en materia de consumo y el Reglamento sobre resolución de litigios en línea.
This paper focuses on the path followed by alternative dispute resolution from the beginning of the European Policy of Consumer Protection until nowadays, through the analysis of main policy instruments on the matter. The path begins -over twenty years ago- with the Green Paper on access to justice and dispute settlement in the internal market, and culminates to date with ADR Directive and ODR Regulation.
