El artículo examina las principales teorías sobre el fracaso de la República de Weimar y el ascenso del nacional socialismo y llama la atención sobre la necesidad de estudiar en sí el período de Weimar para que, al margen de mitos de todo tipo, revele las deficiencias ideológicas y culturales de la primera experiencia democrática alemana.
This article studies the main theories in relation to the failure of the Weimar Republic and the rise of the Nationalsocialist Dictatorship. Thus it calls for the need of providing the Republic of Weimar with a history of its own, which, unbiased by nationalistic and internationalistic, Marxist and non Marxist myths, may reveal the ideological and cultural deficiencies that wasted the first German experience of parliamentary democracy.
