dc.description.abstract | The present work aims to be a diagnosis of the situation of independent retailing in the center of Valladolid. The new consumption habits have led the clientele to habitually go to the big shopping centers on the outskirts of the cities. Faced with this situation, the traditional stores see how the streets of the center are empty of people. From the public-private sphere they try to carry out initiatives to try to promote urban revitalization but the truth is that the impact on consumption is moderate. The purpose of this empirical study is to know the opinion that the owners of the businesses have about the situation of traditional commerce in the center of Valladolid. To this end, a series of in-depth interviews and a quantitative analysis with surveys have been carried out. The combination of both techniques makes the study collect opinions with many nuances. Although the conclusions obtained are certainly scattered, one could say that the expectations of the future are not so negative in general terms. | es |
