The present work is proposed in order to provide an analysis of the festivities in the Jaén of the 15th century as a manifestation of the sociocultural reality in which the constable Don Miguel Lucas de Iranzo, whose chornicle is the basis of this study, is framed. In this work it´s deepened in how these festivities were not mere celebrations, but testimony of the social and cultural structures of the time. These underline the fundamental role played by the constable in the cohesión of the different segments of society. The reading and study of the chronicle offers varied perspectives on the daily life, cultural practices and social dynamics of the Middel Ages within the territory of Jaén. The research contributes significantly to understanding the importance of the chronicle as a source of knowledge of social reality, from the perspective of a man of power. (1)
