La realidad de muchas personas mayores está marcada por su posible entrada en un centro residencial en el que habitar durante los últimos años de vida, y el trato que allí reciben marcará su bienestar durante este periodo de tiempo. La presente investigación busca discernir cómo estos entornos pueden convertirse en espacios habilitantes y de verdadera integración, para que pueda darse una consecución efectiva de una vejez plena y feliz.
Para ello, también se indagará en los Senior Cohousing, una alternativa a las residencias convencionales, surgida de las carencias existentes en los espacios propuestos previamente, y en el edadismo, fenómeno por el cual las necesidades de las personas mayores se han visto desplazadas a segundo plano en las últimas décadas.
The reality of many elderly people is marked by their possible entry into a residential center in which to live during the last years of their lives, and the treatment they receive there will mark their well-being during this period of time. The present research seeks to discern how these environments can become enabling spaces for true integration, so that a fruitful and happy old age can be effectively achieved.
To achieve this, we will also investigate Senior Cohousing, an alternative to conventional nursing homes, arising from the existing deficiencies in the previously proposed spaces, and ageism, a phenomenon by which the needs of the elderly have been displaced to the background in recent decades.
