La aculturación del pueblo mapuche desde la Guerra del Pacífico hasta la Segunda Guerra Mundial

Abstract

Este análisis busca comprender la evolución histórica del pueblo mapuche, especialmente centrado en el periodo analizado, tratando de mostrar los cambios culturales y sociales que ha sufrido este grupo étnico y, por ello, comprender la situación actual que es heredera directa de lo ocurrido en ese periodo. La gran capacidad de adaptación que tiene esta cultura, la ha servido para poder mantener lo mejor posible sus aspectos socio-culturales. Por ello el retroceso territorial y la pérdida de autonomía tras la derrota militar le motivó a conservar su idiosincrasia para las siguientes generaciones y desde ahí tratar de recuperar su espacio e independencia.

This analysis aims to understand the historical evolution of the mapuche people, especially focused on the analysed period, trying to show the cultural and social changes that this ethnic group has suffered and therefore understand the current situation that is a direct heir to what happened in that period. The great adaptability that this culture has helped it to be able to maintain its social and cultural aspects as well as possible. For this reason, the territorial retreat and the loss of autonomy after the military defeat motivated them to preserve their culture for the following generations and from there they try to recover their space and independence.
