Recomposición histórica de la inspeccion de primera enseñanza en la provincia de Badajoz durante el primer tercio del siglo XX

Abstract

La Inspección de Primera Enseñanza (IPE) tuvo repercusiones significativas en el ámbito educativo nacional durante el primer tercio del siglo XX, pero no debemos olvidar que con distinto alcance en función de la provincia. En la provincia de Badajoz no existen estudios previos sobre esta temática durante el periodo comprendido entre 1900 y 1940, por ello nuestro estudio pretende paliar este vacío de investigación. A través del método histórico-educativo analizamos distintos documentos archivísticos para conocer qué funciones tenía la IPE pacense en aquellos años, qué personas formaban parte de este cuerpo profesional, cómo vivieron los inspectores e inspectoras los cambios políticos de las décadas de 1920 y 1930 y qué implicación tenía la IPE en la educación de la provincia. Los resultados nos muestran una evolución significativa del número de efectivos, así como el interés y la preocupación de algunos de estos por las escuelas y los maestros de Badajoz, aspectos muy tenidos en cuenta en los procesos depuradores de la Guerra Civil. Conocer la evolución de este cuerpo profesional es imprescindible para entender la organización actual del Servicio de Inspección Educativa en España.

The Inspection of First Education (IPE) had significant repercussions in the national educational field during the first third of the 20th century, but we must not forget that with different scope depending on the province. In the province of Badajoz there are no previous studies on this subject during the period between 1900 and 1940, so our study aims to alleviate this research gap. Through the historical-educational method, we analyzed different archival documents to find out what functions the IPE of Badajoz had in those years, what people were part of this professional body, how the inspectors experienced the political changes of the 1920s and 1930s, and what implication had the IPE in the education of the province. The results show us a significant evolution in the number of soldiers, as well as the interest and concern of some of them for the schools and teachers of Badajoz, aspects that were taken into account in the purification processes of the Civil War. Knowing the evolution of this professional body is essential to understand the current organization of the Educational Inspection Service in Spain.
