El patrimonio en barro de la comarca de Sahagún: características, situación y puesta en valor como patrimonio territorial

Abstract

Los bienes culturales se han vuelto un recurso esencial para muchas regiones y países. Se ha comprobado que valorando y protegiendo el patrimonio se puede generar riqueza y desarrollo. Este patrimonio es una marca ineludible de nuestra identidad y de nuestra historia y por ello debe preservarse para las generaciones venideras. La España rural se encuentra repleta de un patrimonio muy rico y especial, el patrimonio tradicional o vernáculo. Sin embargo, en la mayoría de estos casos este patrimonio se encuentra en una situación de abandono o deterioro muy grande como es el caso del patrimonio en tierra de la comarca de Sahagún (León). Este patrimonio tiene unas características históricas y técnicas comunes en toda la zona que lo convierte en un patrimonio territorial en el que el valor reside en su conjunto como parte de la identidad de estos pueblos. Identificar, estudiar y reconocer a este patrimonio es necesario para poder sacarle todo el partido a este recurso patrimonial tan importante que, literalmente, se está deshaciendo delante de nosotros sin que hagamos nada para salvarlo.

Cultural assets have become an essential resource for many regions and countries. It has been proven that valuing and protecting heritage can generate wealth and development. This heritage is an inescapable mark of our identity and our history and therefore must be preserved for future generations. Rural Spain is full of very rich and special, traditional or vernacular heritage. However, in most of these cases, this heritage is in a situation of abandonment or great deterioration, as is the case of the land heritage of the Sahagún region. This heritage has historical and technical characteristics common throughout the area, which makes it a territorial heritage in which the value resides as a whole as part of the identity of these towns. Identifying, studying, and giving value to this heritage is necessary to be able to take full advantage of this important heritage resource that is literally falling apart in front of us without us doing anything to save it.
