La transformación demográfica de España es un problema creciente
que ha captado la atención de sociólogos, economistas y políticos en
las últimas décadas. La falta de oportunidades, así como la escasez de
infraestructuras, ha causado un proceso migratorio hacia las ciudades,
ocasionando un progresivo abandono rural. Este trabajo indaga diversas
propuestas arquitectónicas vinculadas al entorno rural y su contribución
contemporánea para abordar esta problemática y mejorar la
calidad de vida de la población actual.
En este sentido se ha desarrollado un debate nacional en torno a la
identidad rural de nuestro país, donde la cultura forma parte fundamental.
Desde la perspectiva arquitectónica, son varios los estudios y
arquitectos que trabajan día a día en estos contextos y que aportan,
generalmente desde pequeñas intervenciones, un grano de arena para
la mejora de estos entornos.
El trabajo se desarrolla dentro del departamento de Teoría de la Arquitectura
y Proyectos Arquitectónicos. Se pretende llevar a cabo un proyecto
de investigación en diferentes contextos y áreas de conocimiento
arquitectónicas que pueden servir más adelante en la elaboración de
enunciados de curso y material docente dentro del departamento. Así
mismo, el trabajo desarrollado abarca áreas urbanísticas, sociales y culturales
que pueden ser de utilidad como referencias arquitectónicas
para futuras iniciativas en el medio rural.
Esta investigación pretende descubrir diversas obras de arquitectura
dispersas por el territorio norte de España como forma de vislumbrar
actuaciones de contrastada calidad arquitectónica que muestren la capacidad
de la arquitectura como herramienta enriquecedora de los
entornos rurales en proceso de degradación.
The demographic transformation of Spain is a growing issue that has captured

has led to a migratory process toward cities, resulting in the progressive
abandonment of rural areas. This work explores various architectural proposals
related to the rural environment and their contemporary contributions
to addressing this problem and improving the quality of life for the
current population.
In this regard, a national debate has developed around the rural identity
of our country, where culture plays a fundamental role. From an
architectural perspective, several studies and architects work daily in these
contexts, generally contributing through small interventions that provide
a grain of sand towards the improvement of these environments.
The work is carried out within the Department of Architectural Theory
and Design. The aim is to conduct a research project in different contexts
and areas of architectural knowledge that may later serve in the development
of course statements and teaching materials within the department.
Likewise, the work covers urban, social, and cultural areas that may be
useful as architectural references for future initiatives in the rural environment.
This research aims to discover various architectural works scattered throughout
the northern territory of Spain as a way to highlight interventions of
proven architectural quality that demonstrate the capacity of architecture
as an enriching tool for rural environments in the process of degradation
