Résumé
In 1930 Gunnar Asplund’s classicist style changed radically when he adopted the principles of the International Style and Functionalism. The objective of the Expo in Stockholm, which he was commissioned to design, was to display the new scenario prompted by changes in art and industry within the framework of everyday life and housing. Asplund called the plastic artist Rudolf Persson
to work with him and produce graphic images
of the Exposition; Persson was inspired by Raoul Dufy’s pictorial works, so in several watercolours he masterfully captured the joyful, festive atmosphere of the Exposition.
