Resumen
Aunifiedviewofdirect-integration (DI) andexponential
time-differencing (ETD)methods to incorporateDrudemedia, suchas
isotropic plasma andmicrowave graphene, intofinite-difference time
domain (FDTD) simulators isprovided.To this end, theDrude consti
tutiverelation is expressed in integral formandtheDI integrators are
obtainedbyapplyingquadraturerules.Analogously, theETDintegrators
are obtainedby starting fromthe variationof constants formula and
applying the samequadrature rules as in theDI case. This approach
allowsonetodirectlycomparethetwofamiliesofmethods. Inaddition,
theaccuracyof each integrator isdiscussedandthestabilitycondition
of the resulting FDTD schemes is derived in exact closed formby
applyingthevonNeumannmethod.
