Storytelling como herramienta básica para el desarrollo competencial de Natural Science

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado explora la adquisición del inglés como lengua extranjera mediante la narración de cuentos a través de los contenidos curriculares de Ciencias de la Naturaleza en Educación Primaria. Partiendo de las teorías de Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, Ausubel, Krashen, Marsh y Do Coyle, y a través del uso de metodologías activas como el Task Based Approach, el Storytelling y el Total Physical Response, la narración se configura como un medio natural y significativo para el desarrollo del lenguaje, el pensamiento y la comunicación, promoviendo la motivación, la creatividad y la comprensión del mundo. La investigación se articula en torno a una propuesta didáctica dirigida al primer curso de Educación Primaria en la asignatura de Natural Science, compuesta por seis sesiones centradas en la narración de historias que integran la adquisición del inglés, así como los contenidos transversales de consumo responsable y desarrollo sostenible, entre otros.

This Final Degree Project explores the acquisition of English as a foreign language through storytelling in Primary Education. Based on the theories of Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, Ausubel, Krashen, Marsh and Do Coyle, and through the use of active methodologies such as the Task-Based Approach, Storytelling, and Total Physical Response, storytelling is presented as a natural and meaningful way for the development of language, thought, and communication, fostering motivation, creativity, and an understanding of the world. The research is structured around a teaching proposal designed for the first year of Primary Education within the subject of Natural Science, consisting of six sessions focused on story-based activities that integrate English language acquisition, as well as cross-curricular contents such as responsible consumption and sustainable development, among others.
