This article examines the lexematic challenges faced by Spanish-speaking learners of German from a contrastive linguistic perspective. It focuses on systematic divergences between the two languages that give rise to interference phenomena, semantic shifts, and inaccurate lexical usage. Through contrastive analysis, the study identifies key areas of difficulty, including polysemy, false friends, aspectual mismatches, and divergent word-formation mechanisms. The findings demonstrate that many of these errors stem from structural asymmetries between the German and Spanish lexicons, often obscured by superficial formal similarities. The article concludes by outlining pedagogical implications aimed at fostering more targeted development of learners’ lexical competence.es
