La educación online en la ESO: análisis de las ventajas, inconvenientes y su posible papel futuro a través de un proyecto ciberperiodístico

Abstract

Miles de estudiantes de secundaria se vieron obligados a terminar el último trimestre del curso 2019/2020 de forma online, debido a la pandemia provocada por el virus de la Covid-19. A través del reportaje “Conectados al Instituto” disponible en: https://mirellahh7.wixsite.com/website-2 se intenta reflejar la situación en la que se encontraron tanto los profesores y los alumnos de Secundaria, como sus familias. La falta de medios, los fallos informáticos, las dificultades para resolver dudas y la falta de contacto social, han sido los principales problemas a los que se han tenido que enfrentar. Pero este modelo educativo también ha traído aspectos positivos como la flexibilidad horaria, tener la posibilidad de seguir las clases desde cualquier lugar y en cualquier circunstancia, aprender el funcionamiento de nuevas aplicaciones informáticas o poder revisar las clases grabadas en el momento que sea necesario. Aunque nunca podrá llegar a sustituir a la educación presencial, la educación virtual podría convertirse en un complemento que beneficiaría tanto a los alumnos como a los profesores. Para reflejar los efectos del confinamiento en la educación secundaria se ha optado por desarrollar un ciberreportaje en el que alumnos, profesores y padres comparten su experiencia para dar al reportaje un tono más cercano y personal, y ayudar al lector a entender mejor la situación y a hacerse una imagen lo más parecida posible a la realidad vivida. También algunos expertos analizan cómo se consiguió terminar el curso y expresan sus opiniones sobre la modalidad de enseñanza a distancia. El proyecto incorpora distintos formatos. Las declaraciones de los alumnos, profesores y padres se han insertado en audio y los testimonios de los expertos en vídeo. Además, para que sean más fáciles de interpretar, algunos datos se muestran a través de gráficos interactivos.

The Covid-19 pandemic forced thousands of secondary school students to finalize the third trimester from the 2019/2020 school year online. The reportage “Connected to high school”, available at https://mirellahh7.wixsite.com/website-2 seeks to reflect the situation lived not only by teachers and students, but also by their families. The lack of resources, the internet failures, the handicapped doubts-solving teacher-student interactions and social connections have been the top of the iceberg. Although it has also brought positive aspects to the education system, such as the time flexibility, the possibility to follow the lectures from wherever and under whatever circumstances, learning what computer applications can offer in terms of education, or the possibility to rewatch the lectures whenever necessary. Online schooling will never be able to completely substitute in-class schooling, yet it could turn into a complement that would benefit both students and teachers. In order to reflect the consequences of online schooling during lockdown, a cyber-reportage was developed, as it allows to gather experiences from all students, teachers and parents, which undoubtedly offers a closer and more personal view, hence helping the reader to better understand the situation and thus get a full image of the experiences lived. Furthermore, experts analyse how the school year was ended, and give their opinion on the distance learning system. The reportage gathers several formats. Whilst the statements from students, teachers and parents were recorded and inserted as audio files, the opinions from experts were filmed and inserted as short video-clips. Interactive graphics that help to better interpret the data have also been added.
