dc.description.abstract | This study focused on an analysis of how social networks personalize content based on their audience. In this particular case, we delve into the operation of the Facebook algorithm and how it behaved in university individuals belonging to the University of Valladolid and the Miguel de Cervantes European University. The selection of this platform is justified by its popularity, being one of the most used at this time and by observing its behavior with individuals concerning this age range. It was intended to delve into the supposedly predictive behavior used by the algorithms of these social networks and draw a series of conclusions about what type of content is shown to each user and how this filter and information can affect them, with the so-called bubble effect. All this process was carried out by means of a combined procedure. On the one hand, netnography was used, by monitoring screens, and later a quantitative analysis of the data obtained. It was possible to detect levels of statistical association between the affinity and the activity of the participants on Facebook, and the types of messages that this social network showed them on its home page. As a proposal, it is considered necessary to quantitatively expand the sample of messages, through automated capture of online content, and qualitatively improve the distribution of participants, either through random sampling, or through the inclusion of different population groups. | es |
