Transcinema: análisis de la representación trans en la historia de la cinematografía

Abstract

El presente texto busca abordar la representación de lo trans en la historia de la cinematografía, partiendo de entender la palabra «trans» como un concepto amplio donde caben diferentes manifestaciones identitarias que salen del binarismo de género. Además, aquí se destacan algunos referentes trans en la historia y en diferentes culturas, los años primitivos del cine y la figura de Gilbert Saroni, la edad de oro de Hollywood y el Código Hays, el subtexto homosexuales y las reacciones comerciales del Exploitation Film, la transkiller que nace con el director Alfred Hitchcock y la arquetipificación de lo trans; hasta llegar a la actualidad donde se habla de un cine de resistencia que se sustenta a través de procesos independientes y reactivos de autorrepresentación que buscan reivindicar y dignificar a las minorías. Este es un trabajo breve y conciso que recorre un proceso extenso para encontrar la relación entre cine, evolución social e identidades de género.

This text seeks the representation of the trans in the history of cinematography, starting from understanding the word "trans" as a broad concept where different identity manifestations that come out of gender binarism. In addition, here are some trans references in history and in different cultures, the primitive years of cinema and the figure of Gilbert Saroni, the golden age of Hollywood and The Hay’s Code, the homosexual subtext and the commercial reactions of the Exploitation Film, the transkiller born with director Alfred Hitchcock and the archetype of trans; until reaching the present time where there is talk of a resistance cinema that sustains through independent and reactive processes of self-representation that seek to vindicate and dignify minorities. This is a short and concise work that goes through an extensive process to find the relationship between cinema, social evolution and gender identities.
