El control social y económico de la villa sobre su alfoz: el valle del Duero en tiempos de Juan II

Abstract

A partir del tránsito del siglo XIII al XIV, se produjeron dentro de los reinos hispánicos los cambios que permitieron el desarrollo de un contexto socioeconómico favorable al aumento del control del espacio rural desde las ciudades a través de sus organismos municipales. Durante la Baja Edad Media, el desarrollo de ese control se expresó a través de distintas formas, implicando entre otras cosas la ampliación del fenómeno de las usurpaciones. En el siguiente trabajo, trataremos de analizar esas formas de control que componían las relaciones entre las ciudades y sus tierras a partir de una selección de espacios pertenecientes al reino de Castilla durante el reinado de Juan II.

From the transition from the 13th to the 14th century, changes took place within the Hispanic kingdoms that allowed the development of a socio-economic context favourable to the increase of control of the rural space from the cities through their municipal bodies. During the late Middle Ages, the development of this control was expressed in different ways, involving, among other things, the expansion of the phenomenon of usurpations. In the following paper, we will try to analyse these forms of control that made up the relations between the cities and their lands based on a selection of spaces belonging to the kingdom of Castile during the reign of John II.
