Las fábulas como recurso didáctico para la enseñanza del inglés en Educación Primaria

Abstract

El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado pretende mostrar la idoneidad de la fábula como recurso didáctico en la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera en Educación Primaria. Para ello, se analiza el proceso de adquisición de una segunda lengua, se exponen los beneficios que conlleva la integración de la fábula en el aula, se muestran criterios para una adecuada selección de los textos literarios y se presentan orientaciones para la creación de propuestas didácticas que integren la literatura y las destrezas lingüísticas básicas. Finalmente, siguiendo el currículo de la etapa, se expone una propuesta de intervención para la enseñanza del inglés en el quinto curso de Educación Primaria, utilizando las fábulas The Hare and the Tortoise y The Lion and the Mouse de Esopo y The Story of a Raven and a Swan de John Gay como eje vertebrador.

This Final Degree Project aims to illustrate the suitability of the fable as a didactic resource for teaching English as a foreign language in Primary Education. In order to do so, it analyses the process of second language acquisition, the benefits of the integration of the fable in the classroom, the criteria for an adequate selection of literary texts and the recommendations for the creation of didactic proposals that integrate literature and the basic linguistic skills. Finally, following the curriculum of the stage, a proposal for the teaching of English in the 5th grade of Primary Education is presented. It is based on the fables The Hare and the Tortoise and The Lion and the Mouse by Aesop and The Story of a Raven and a Swan by John Gay.
