Escenario educativo y deportivo con actividades geolocalizadas en el Camp-O Grande: análisis de usabilidad de la aplicación OrientaTree

Abstract

La orientación en la escuela tiene una relevancia que va más allá de la asignatura de Educación Física, donde puede ser utilizada como una herramienta transversal en otras áreas curriculares de Educación Primaria. La combinación de la orientación con las tecnologías móviles ofrece nuevas posibilidades de apoyar el aprendizaje de la orientación en la escuela. Este trabajo se centra en el análisis de una aplicación tecnológica (OrientaTree) basada en recorridos de orientación junto con actividades interdisciplinares apoyados con tecnologías móviles y geolocalización. Para ello, se diseñó un cuestionario inspirándonos en la Escala SUS (System Usability Scale) con el objeto de analizar la percepción de 115 estudiantes del Grado de Maestro/a respecto a la utilidad y facilidad de uso de la aplicación OrientaTree. Entre otros resultados, los estudiantes evidenciaron que la aplicación móvil facilita la adquisición de conocimientos de orientación y del conocimiento del medio natural. En relación con la usabilidad de OrientaTree, los estudiantes percibieron su uso general como sencilla e intuitiva, aunque también mostraron limitaciones en la misma, como por ejemplo la necesidad de desarrollar esta aplicación en diferentes sistemas operativos, y otros.

Orienteering at school has a relevance that goes beyond the subject of Physical Education, where it can be used as a transversal tool in other curricular areas of Primary Education. The combination of orienteering with mobile technologies offers new possibilities to support orienteering learning in the school. This work focuses on the analysis of a technological application (OrientaTree) based on orienteering routes together with interdisciplinary activities supported by mobile technologies and geolocation. For this, a questionnaire was designed inspired by the SUS Scale (System Usability Scale) in order to analyze the perception of 115 students of the Degree of Primary Education regarding the usefulness and ease of use of the OrientaTree application. Among other results, the students showed that the mobile application facilitates the acquisition of knowledge of orienteering and the natural environment. In relation to the usability of OrientaTree, students perceived its general use as simple and intuitive, although they also showed limitations in it, such as the need to develop this application in different operating systems, and others.
