El entorno, un factor condicionante en la práctica profesional docente y en el ejercicio de la dirección de centros educativos

Abstract

El liderazgo educativo tiene una fuerte conexión con el entorno en el que se lleva a cabo la labor de dirección. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo general conocer las experiencias profesionales de personas que ejercen la dirección de centros educativos en la provincia de Soria y valorar la influencia que puede tener el entorno en su práctica profesional. La investigación, de corte cualitativo, se asienta para responder a este objetivo en el método biográfico-narrativo. A través de un periodo de investigación que engloba diversas fases se han recogido los testimonios de tres participantes, que responden a los perfiles docentes del estudio. Una vez recogidas las entrevistas se ha realizado un análisis de los datos que nos ha llevado a contemplar tres categorías: influencia de la formación recibida en su elección por el Magisterio; relación entre su formación profesional y su práctica laboral; y la valoración sobre el ejercicio de la dirección del centro educativo en la actualidad. A partir de ellas llegamos a la conclusión de que las experiencias educativas de los primeros años de vida condicionan la elección de la carrera docente y la vocación por el Magisterio. Además, el entorno ejerce una influencia importante sobre la percepción de la profesión y el ejercicio del liderazgo pedagógico.

Educational leadership has a strong connection with the environment in which the work of management is carried out. The general objective of this study is to learn about the professional experiences of people who work in the management of educational centers in the province of Soria and to assess the influence that the environment can have on their professional practice. The research, qualitative in nature, is based on the biographical-narrative method. Through a period of research that encompasses several phases, the testimonies of three participants, who respond to the teaching profiles of the study, have been collected. Once the interviews were collected, an analysis of the data was carried out, which led us to consider three categories: the influence of the training received in their choice of teaching; the relationship between their professional training and their work practice; and their assessment of the current practice of school management. From these we conclude that the educational experiences of the first years of life condition the choice of a teaching career and the vocation for teaching. In addition, the environment exerts an important influence on the perception of the profession and the exercise of pedagogical leadership.
