L3 Alemán en series audiovisuales como motivo de humor: análisis contrastivo de las situaciones de incomprensión lingüística, código secreto e interpretación no fidedigna

Abstract

Este estudio aborda el papel del multilingüismo para la generación de humor como una de las funciones más conocidas y habituales de su incorporación en el relato. Se investiga esta propiedad textual comparando tres series que utilizan L3 alemán como motivo humorístico y sus adaptaciones a un contexto lingüístico con coincidencia L3-lengua principal. Las situaciones analizadas son incomprensión lingüística, código secreto e interpretación no fidedigna. Como resultados se obtiene que, dentro de cada serie, la adaptación de las escenas varía y no sigue un mismo patrón. Algunas realizan el cambio por una lengua diferente como neerlandés, sueco o turco y otras se desarrollan completamente en alemán. Esto hace que las situaciones con coexistencia de idiomas se deban ajustar utilizando otros motivos para mantener la coherencia de las secuencias. La comparación entre las soluciones de transferencia, que quedan invisibilizadas en el entorno, y la diferenciación mediante la sustitución por otra lengua, así como las restricciones que llevan a su respectiva aplicación, destaca la importancia de considerar el factor lingüístico en la preservación del significado y la carga humorística de las obras.

L3 German in audiovisual series as a source of humor: a contrastive analysis of situations of linguistic incomprehension, secret code, and non-faithful interpretation This study addresses the role of multilingualism in humor generation as one of the most well-known and common functions of its incorporation into the story. This textual feature is investigated by comparing three series that use L3 German as a humorous element and their adaptations to a linguistic context with L3-main language coincidence. The situations analyzed are linguistic incomprehension, secret code and non-faithful interpretation. The results show that within each series, the adaptation of the scenes varies and does not follow the same pattern. Some switch to a different language, such as Dutch, Swedish or Turkish, while others develop entirely in German. This leads to the need for adjusting situations with language coexistence by employing other motifs to maintain the coherence of the sequences. The comparison between transfer solutions, which remain invisible in the context, and differentiation through substitution with another language, as well as the restrictions leading to their respective application, highlights the importance of considering the linguistic factor in preserving the meaning and the humorous impact of the works.
